Alissa does not participate as an in-network provider with insurance companies. This means she is considered an “out-of-network” provider for all insurance plans.
This decision is intentional. It allows Alissa to make thoughtful, collaborative decisions about your therapy, without the restrictions or medical model imposed by third-party payers. It also helps maintain a sustainable caseload so she can be fully present, energized, and attuned in the work done together.
Many clients utilize out of network benefits, or choose not to involve insurance companies in their care at all.
Below are some of the options available when investing in therapy:
Out of Network Session Claim Submission and Reimbursement
Many are able to use their insurance through out of network benefits, and don’t even realize they have them. If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible to be reimbursed by your insurance plan for a portion of each session (often 50% - 80%) once your out of network deductible is met.
Alissa loves to support clients in navigating this process. She can provide monthly Superbills (detailed receipts) to submit directly to your insurance company, or, use a service called Thrizer which handles submitting claims for our sessions on your behalf and makes the reimbursement process easy-peasy.
Due to their multiple hour format, EMDR Intensives are not reimbursable by insurance at this time.
Private Pay
Some clients choose not to involve insurance at all, which can offer more privacy, flexibility, and freedom, especially for those who prefer not to have a formal diagnosis on record.
Reduced Fee
Alissa reserves a limited number of reduced-rate spots, and is open to discussing fee adjustments when possible to support accessibility.
If you’re unsure whether you have out-of-network coverage or have any other questions about the above, plaease reach out. Alissa is happy to help you take the steps to explore what your out of network benefits might offer and what working together could look like.
